Report material on Frostreads

If you own the relevant copyright or act for its owner, email a report with the subject "Copyright complaint" and include:

  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • The copyrighted work you believe is infringed, or a representative list of works if your report covers several works on Frostreads. Include an original source link if available.
  • The material you want removed and enough information to find it. Provide exact Frostreads URLs, including any share link, and novel or chapter IDs where available. A title alone may not identify the copy you are reporting.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that your report is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Consider any permission or legal exception that could cover the use before reporting it. Send share links privately to the contact above because they grant access to the shared material. Do not send passwords or source-site login credentials.

Review and removal

Winter reviews reports and may request missing information. When Frostreads receives a notice that includes the information above, it removes the reported material from the account of the user who stored or shared it, including any share links to it. Frostreads then notifies that account holder and explains how to dispute the removal. Frostreads may share the report and your contact information with that account holder as needed to address the complaint.

Copies shared outside Frostreads

Novels exported from Frostreads as EPUB or PDF files carry hidden markers that identify the export they came from. If you find a Frostreads export shared elsewhere, attach the file, or a link to where it is shared, to your report. When the markers match an export, Frostreads can identify the account that exported it and act on that account under the review and repeat-infringement process on this page.

Dispute a removal

If you believe Frostreads removed your material by mistake or misidentified it, reply to the removal notice or email the contact above. For a counter-notice under the DMCA, include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • The removed material and its location on Frostreads before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith that the removal or disabling resulted from a mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district where your address is located. If your address is outside the United States, consent to any judicial district where the service provider may be found.
  • A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original infringement notice or that person's agent.

Frostreads will forward a qualifying counter-notice, including your personal contact information, to the original complainant. Where the DMCA counter-notice procedure applies, restoration occurs no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after Frostreads receives a qualifying counter-notice, unless Frostreads first receives notice that the complainant has filed a court action seeking to restrain infringement relating to that material. A separate violation of Frostreads' terms may still prevent restoration.

Repeat infringement

Frostreads' policy is to terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. Frostreads considers the facts of each case, including prior violations, retractions, and successful disputes. There is no fixed number of complaints that automatically establishes repeat infringement.
