Frostreads is a reading library for people who follow web novels before an official translation exists. Bring in chapters from the sites you already read, translate them with AI, and keep every name consistent with a glossary you control.

How it works

  1. Import

    Paste a novel or chapter link from a supported site, or upload an EPUB, TXT, or HTML file.

  2. Translate

    Choose Standard or Enhanced for each chapter. The novel’s glossary and your saved instructions guide every translation.

  3. Read

    Frostreads saves each chapter and your place in it. Watch a novel to hear when new chapters are out.

Which sites and files can I import?

Syosetu novels and public Kakuyomu and RIDI chapters import without a source account. For chapters that need sign-in, connect your account under Sources in Settings. Kakuyomu Next chapters need access through your Kakuyomu account.

You can upload EPUB, UTF-8 TXT, or HTML files up to 20 MB, with up to 500 chapters and 8 MB of extracted text. Frostreads keeps the text, not the original file.

What’s the difference between Standard and Enhanced?

Standard uses Frostreads’ everyday AI model. Enhanced uses a more capable model for full chapter translations and uses more of your allowance. Both follow your saved instructions and the novel’s glossary. Enhanced is part of Plus; free accounts can use it during their first 3 days.

Pick one in the chapter reader before you translate or retranslate. Chapters you have already saved do not change. See Pricing for how much each one uses.

Is the translation always right?

No. AI translation can still get names, honorifics, or context wrong. Add names to the glossary so later chapters use them, edit any line by hand, or retranslate a chapter.
